Sire is essentially page after page of me cringing and going "Most of this would be explained better with an essay, but it looks like we'll just have to generalize again!"
Good on'ya, Anna! Few seem to realize what a total jerk the good Doctor could be sometimes...
Don't worry, your readers know it's really simplified. xD
Besides, it's the character's statements, not yours per see.
Also; Yay, Jekyll!
@Kaelin: I love Henry Jekyll to pieces, but he was a man making some seriously terrible mistakes. In my opinion, people get too caught up in the scientist aspect when writing him. Or they make him an angel so that he will foil better with Edward. Henry was human, and he succumbed to the whole Ring of Gyges situation: That any man freed of consequence is going to lose their morals pretty damn fast.
@Hokova: Thank you for the reassurance. I think I needed that. :D And thank you also for drawing the distinction between character voice and author voice. People who attribute character quotes directly to the author seriously irk me.
Well-informed readers are such a delight! You guys are the best. :3
That's the spirit Anna!
And, I totally agree. "It was only AFTER Hyde had a signifigant body count did Jekylll realize that turning into the guy was a bad idea." A quote from my essay on The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde.
@Marvin the Paranoid Android: I would love to read that essay. Even that one quote made me grin.
@Alexis_Royce: Really? I'm flattered! That makes me want to finish it sooner!
